Social Security

Social Security was 12.6% of the total US 2020 budget. Retirement planning should be a responsability of the individual. The market may ebb and flow, but a properly built portfolio will weather all storms. Philanthropic endevors could help those who are not able to help themselves.

The Free Market can do better than the Government

Invest in yourselves

The Government takes 12% of our money to fund Social Security. If we the people took that same amount of money and invested it in Stocks, Bonds, Real Estate, Private Companies, or our own dream we would have are more than the Social Security Checks that are issued.

Retirement Investing

With proper planning, and allocating 10% of your income to a retirement fund, all US citizens would be able support themselves financially through retirement. The Government taking +12% of our money to give us a sub par retirement (or return) via Social Security. Social Security is robbery to disciplined, educated people. Retirement planning needs to a core compentency for middle school and high school children. Every graduating senior should have a retirement account and plan.

Philanthropy & Insurance

Some people many fail to plan. Some may have built portfolios with bad assets and lost their nest egg. These individuals should be supported by family, friends, church and other charatable organizations; not the federal, state, or local government. Investment Insurance companies could be amother solution. With more capital available to the free market, more innovation will happen, and the quality of life for all of us will increase.

Transition Period

The transition period will be the hardest part for the country. It will take a generation to completly eliminate social security.

People over the age of 14 should be allowed to opt out of social security. Children under the age of 14 should be be told early on that they will not have Social Security and trained to invest early on in life.

We may not agree on all thing,
but we will on most.

Explore Other Issues

Here is a blanket question that can be applied to all of my views. Is it restrictive or liberating? If it's restrictive or burdensome, I'm most likley against it. Is it freeing or liberating, allowing a person the freedom to choose? I'm probably for it. There are only a few areas I think government could (possibly) be helpful: Defending our Freedom, and providing low interest capital for research, infrastructure projects, and education.
