Taxes & Treasury

Live Free or Die. It's not just a slogan, it's a way of life. I will never let NH establish an income tax. I wll work to reduce the taxes we do have. Automation, repeal of restrictive laws, and privatization of government programs are the catalyst we need to make it happen.

Why are we trusting "The Government" instead of ourselves?

Trust the People

A reduction in federal spending would require the cutting and gutting of many federal programs. Philanthropic individuals and organizations would have to come up with ideas and programs to re-invent or re-create the lost programs. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Welfare programs make up more than 50% of the us Mandatory spending. If we were able to keep that 50%, we could invest and reap the benifits of the free market for our retirement, health, and insurance. Don't worry I have a healthcare solution; plain and simple: price transparency & open markets.

Debt, Deficit & Budget

First things first, we spend too much. We need to reduce the dependence on the Federal Government. Deficit spending should not be allowed.

If more funds are needed than budgeted for, the government can sell Bonds to individual US citizens, and US companies.

If we the people want them to spend, we will buy the bonds.

NH vs The FED

Federal spending is out of control. If the federal goverment is going to keep spending money it doesn't have, or it just decides to print, NH needs to think about alternative tax solutions to protect the NH people from inflation and unreasonable taxation.

That starts with NH not letting the Federal Government touch the money, or bank accounts of the citizens of NH. Taxes paid to the Federal Government, should go directly through the NH State Government.

Automation & Privatization

Automation can help dramatically reduce the tax bill of the NH citizens. Implimented correctly we can use technology to reduce our operating costs for NH while creating more private sector more jobs.

If an industry can be privatized, without instantly creating a monopoly, it should be. The free market will improve quality and reduce cost far faster than the government could ever dream of accomplishing.

Federal Budget

The federal government should as small as physically possible, differing to states and towns to things that are "nice" but are not mandatory. Things that should be taken away from the Federal Government over the course of the next generation are all health, welfare and retirement related expendatures. As we need to ensure our place as the leader of the free world and ensure the freedoms of our people the following are items I feel are vital to our success: Military & Defense, Infastructure & Energy, Parks, Enviornment, Science & Technology, Space, R&D. What would it take to do this: $1.6 Trillion... 1/4 of our current budget... Oh, and $375 Billion of that is just interest on DEBT... So it could be even lower 1.5%

State & Local Budgets

States, Cities & Towns, should compete with each other for citizens, whoever offers the best overall package will attract the most businesses and residents. If a state like California or New York want to provide Health Care and Welfare programs for their residents, by all means. Tax your people and see what happens. Maybe you will grow, maybe everyone will move away.

In NH - I would like to have us manage the leanest budget in the country. Have the highest quality of life, and the lowest taxes. I want our people to be the most philanthropic citizens in the country donating, by free will, 10% of their income to good causes like: Welfare, Un-Enployement, Catastrophic Insurance, Food / Clothing Programs, and Educational Scholarships.

I would like to see the state leave the majority of decisions to local municipalities.

We may not agree on all thing,
but we will on most.

Explore Other Issues

Here is a blanket question that can be applied to all of my views. Is it restrictive or liberating? If it's restrictive or burdensome, I'm most likley against it. Is it freeing or liberating, allowing a person the freedom to choose? I'm probably for it. There are only a few areas I think government could (possibly) be helpful: Defending our Freedom, and providing low interest capital for research, infrastructure projects, and education.
